Addie Lee Hopper Hinds

Addie Lee Hopper Hinds, 88, of Coleman, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2016 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Rev. Loyd Hopper officiating, assisted by Rev. Jody Rodriguez. Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Addie Lee Hopper Hinds was born May 4, 1928 near Voss in Coleman County to Oly Boston "O.B." Hopper and Glayds Viola Cox Hopper. She grew up in Voss and attended school at Voss and Starkweather. She graduated from Mozelle High School in 1945. On October 24, 1948, she married Carroll Hinds in Voss. She lived in Phoenix, Arizona and California from 1963 to 1968. Returning to Coleman County, she worked at Perry Brothers, in the cafeteria at Talpa-Centennial School and subbed as a mail carrier. She was a past member of The Gideons International Auxillary, member of the American Numismatic Association, the Texas Numismatic Association and Immanuel Baptist Church in Talpa.

She is survived by three sons, David Hinds and wife, Pam, of Coleman, Steve Hinds of Coleman, Philip Hinds and wife, Amy, of Coleman; one daughter, Laura Dees and husband, Ral, of Denver City; one brother, Loyd Hopper and wife, Edwina, of Coleman; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll, on April 4, 2015; four brothers, James Hopper, J.D. Hopper, Ira Hopper, R.W. Hopper; three sisters, Grace Loyd, Lavada Evans, Mattie Marie Hopper and one grandson, Lance Hinds.
