Alexandria “Alex” Dodgen, 21, of Burkett, died Monday, June 11, 2018 in Lubbock.  There will be a  funeral service 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Mr. David Wallace officiating.  Burial will be in the Burkett Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Alexandria Danielle Dodgen on November 24, 1996 in Brownwood to Jackie Dodgen and Allessandra Allcorn Dodgen.  Alex grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School in 2015.  While in high school, she played basketball, softball, baseball and ran track.  She was a member of the National Honor Society and travelled to Washington, D.C. after being nominated for the Future Leaders of America.  Alex was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, helping with various activities in Coleman and Coleman County.  Alex worked as a life guard at the Coleman County Club and the Coleman City Park.  After graduating from high school, Alex was accepted to Texas Tech University in Lubbock. While in Lubbock, she worked at Cavender’s Western Wear.  Alex touched many lives and always had a smile on her face.  She was a member of the Burkett Church of Christ.

She is survived by her parents, Jackie Dodgen and Jamie Trammell of Burkett, Allessandra and Brandon Phillips of Abilene; six brothers and sisters, Nicholas Dodgen of Burkett, William “Bill” Trammell of Burkett, Theresa Jackson and husband, Adam, of San Angelo, Catarina Miller of Abilene, Katye Phillips of Abilene, Shelby Phillips of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandparents, Linda Brady of Burkett, Lana Raye Dodgen of Brownwood, James and Nedra Russell of May, Jimmy and Michelle Allcorn of Coleman, Dan and Myra Phillips of Abilene, Mary Isbell of Coleman; great grandparents, Jackie and Carolyn Hammonds of Coleman; one niece, Patrisha Jackson of San Angelo; one nephew, Tommy Jackson of San Angelo and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Mike Brady and Loyd Dodgen; one aunt, Darla Penner.

There will be a visitation with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the funeral home.
