Alfred Henry (Bud) Holland

February 21, 1922 — July 2, 2016

Alfred Henry (Bud) Holland, age 94, died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Brownwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Coleman with Bro. Don Harmes officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

He was born Alfred Henry Holland on February 21, 1922 in Emory, Texas, a son of Dalton E. Holland and Lou Sayles Holland. He grew up in Brownwood. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged. On March 4, 1944, he married Jewel Marie Dobbins in Brownwood and she preceded him in death on November 19, 1991. He was a truck driver for many years, retiring from Bennie's Well Service in Coleman. He was Baptist.

He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Barnett of Coleman; nine grandchildren, Shaunna Harmes of Brownwood, Misty Harmes of Coleman, John Rambo of Abilene, Charles Rambo of Coleman, Ricky Rambo of Coleman, Wiley Rambo of Coleman, Carla Lobstein of Coleman, Robin Longley of Coleman, Jackie Barnett of Coleman; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his daughter, Sharon Carpenter in 2011, and a grandson, Marty Rambo in 2013.

Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas.
