Allen Wesley Dority

Allen Wesley Dority, 69, of Lake Brownwood, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at home.

Wesley was born April 5, 1947 in Electra, a son of Doy and Jessie Dority. The family later moved to Coleman. Wesley grew up in Coleman, attending Coleman schools until graduation in 1965. He and Linda Joyce Griffith were married in 1965.

Wesley worked many years for GTE, taking early retirement in 1996. He was always active in the oil/gas business, owning and operating his own wells. Wesley was a hard worker, enjoyed fishing, camping, his family and loved cooking a brisket for family and friends.

Wesley is survived by his wife, Linda of 51 years, a daughter, Denise Dority of the home and a son, Doyle Dority and wife, Jessica, of Houston. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Derek Dority and wife Kandus of Tipton, Oklahoma, Dillon Dority of Austin, Megan Dority of Coleman, Sean Dority also of the home, two step grandchildren, Morgan and Nathan Virga of Houston; four great grandchildren, Bradley, Braiden and MacKenzie Dority of Tipton, Oklahoma and Kyler Dority of Coleman; a brother, Ron Dority and wife, Linda, of Thrifty, a sister, Sharon Walden and husband, Bill, of Burleson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wesley was preceded in death in death by his parents, and infant sister, Karyn, a brother Ricci Dority and a sister, Sondra Dority.

The family would like to thank Dr. Vega and Dr. Mahoney and their staff at Hendrick Medical Center for the care that they provided Wesley and to Solaris Hospice for their loving care.

The family of Wesley Dority will be honoring his wishes with a private family service.

Arrangements were made with Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.
