Alma Barnes Wright

Alma Lorene Crosby was born in Coleman County Texas on April 29, 1917 and passed away on June 6, 2015 in Roswell, New Mexico. She was born to T.H. and Nora Crosby and had nine brothers and sisters all of whom preceded her in death. On September 19, 1936, she married F.L. (Pud) Barnes. They were blessed with two daughters, Juanita and Patsy. In 1956, they moved to New Mexico where Alma lived until her death. Pud preceded her in death on January 1, 1979. In September 1980, she married Cullon Wright. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Leslie Hammonds.

She is survived by her daughter Juanita Cross and husband, Buck of Clovis, NM; daughter Patsy Bynum and husband, Bill of Roswell, NM; granddaughter Daina Roberts and husband, Ray of Rio Rancho, NM; grandson Mitch Hammonds and wife, Michelle of Clovis, NM; granddaughter Darya Bynum of Roswell, NM; eight great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two stepsons and their families.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon on Friday, June 12, at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Coleman Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Stovall, pastor of Concho Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
