Anita Floyd, born on February 21, 1962, in Coleman, Texas, entered eternal rest on March 2, 2025, at Coleman County Medical Center. A dedicated caregiver and beloved member of the Coleman community, Anita leaves behind a lasting legacy of compassion through her work as a licensed vocational nurse. During her esteemed career, she served at Coleman County Medical Center, Coleman County Medical Center Clinic, and Holiday Hill Nursing Home, where she took immense pride in caring for her patients and exemplified unwavering commitment to her profession.

A proud graduate of Ranger Jr. College, Anita obtained her degree in nursing, which filled her with purpose and allowed her to touch countless lives. Her warm and giving personality endeared her to many, and she cherished every moment spent with her family. Anita married Thomas Lee Floyd on June 12, 2014, a union that brought her immense joy. She became a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, valuing family above all else.

Anita is survived by her two children, Lesli Jones of Coleman and Jeremy Monroe and wife Taya of Boerne. She was the adoring grandmother of five grandchildren, Carli Ferguson, Maddison Ferguson, Bayli Ferguson, Journey Hurtado, and Jaxten Hurtado, as well as three great-grandchildren, Kaisen Ferguson, River Ferguson, and Everlee Ferguson. Additionally, she leaves behind her loving siblings, Gary McDonald, Stanley Farris, Vickie Hale, and Amy Farris.

Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Bert Wayne Farris and Margaret Jane Andrews McDonald, as well as her stepfather, Carl McDonald. She was also preceded in death by her cherished husband, Thomas Lee Floyd, and one sister, Lee Ann Brooks.

In her spare time, Anita enjoyed cross stitching and had a deep appreciation for country western music, especially the beloved group, Alabama. Her passion for life and her dedication to her family will always be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will host a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service celebrating her life at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Services and cremation are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
