Antonio "Tony" Sanchez

June 13, 1924 — March 18, 2016

Antonio "Tony" Sanchez, age 91, of Coleman, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016, at his son's home in Fort Worth. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College, Coleman. Burial will follow in the Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

Antonio Sanchez was born June 13, 1924 in Eagle Lake, Texas, a son of Leon Sanchez and Marte Gamez Sanchez. He moved to Coleman with his family in 1929 and had lived here until moving to Fort Worth to be near family. On June 19, 1942 he married Eva Jaramillo in Coleman. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2001. He worked on the Morris, Henderson and Miller Ranches in Coleman County and was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Guadalupana Society.

He is survived by four sons, Joe Sanchez of Fort Worth, Willie Sanchez of Coleman, Jesse Sanchez of Fort Worth and Carlos Sanchez of Coleman; two daughters, Mary Alcala and Marie Espitia both of Fort Worth; 33 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby and Tony, Jr. and a daughter, Mary Esther Villalpanda.

Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas.
