Ava Weathers

Ava Weathers, 79, of Coleman, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland. A graveside memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion. Inurnment will follow under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Ava Weathers was born on March 30, 1935 in Coleman to J.P. Jett and Capitola Morris Boyd Jackson. She grew up and attended school in Coleman. On May 1, 1952, she married Bill Weathers in Coleman. She worked for an employment agency in Corpus Christi. In 1995, she and Bill moved back to Coleman and enjoyed meeting with the "Fun Bunch" at the Owl Drug Store for coffee.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Weathers of Coleman; daughters, Karen Franco of Driftwood, Pat Butler of Houston, Pamela Wiseman of Midland, Janice Bartz of San Angelo; one sister, Mary Jo Claridge of San Antonio, 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Donald Jackson and Douglas Boyd.
