Barbara Williams

Barbara Williams, 75, of Clyde, died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Clyde Nursing Home in Clyde. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Rev. Larry Hooper officiating, assisted by Randy Widener and Jerry Palmer. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born July 1, 1939 in San Angelo, the daughter of Emmett McMahan and Monte Castleberry McMahan Yoes. She grew up in San Angelo and attended school there. On November 17, 1957, she married Thomas Jerald "Tommy" Williams, Sr. in Brownwood. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2007.

Shortly after marrying Tommy, his brother Frank, lead Barbara to the Lord and accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior. Barbara had lived in Clyde since 1973 and was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Clyde. She had also taught Sunday School for several years. Her best hobby of all, was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved being around them. She also was a member of P.A.C.A. (People Against Child Abuse) and loved to go to fishing.

Survivors include four children, Roxanne Hobbs and husband, Mark, of Oklahoma, Beth Broadus and husband, Johnny, of Clyde, Tommy Williams, Jr., of Baird, Annetta Speicher and husband, Ron of Florida; one sister, Sybill Taylor of San Angelo; two brothers, Coen Yoes of San Angelo, Robert McMahan and wife Karon, of Richmond; two sisters-in-law, Millie Williams of San Angelo, Sue Williams of Coleman; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she is also preceded in death by a daughter, Vonnie Dineen in 2013.

Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 at Stevens Funeral Home.
