Carolyn Seltzer

November 25, 1944 — August 12, 2014

Carolyn Seltzer, 69, of Mineral Wells, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Burkett Cemetery Pavilion, State Highway 206, Burkett, Coleman County, with Rev. Paul Harris officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Northside Baptist Church, 503 N.E. 23rd Street, Mineral Wells with Rev. Paul Harris officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.

She was born Carolyn Diane George on November 25, 1944 in Oakland, California, to Cullen Bryant George and Noela Hebert George. She grew up in central Texas and the Texas Panhandle and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Masters Degree. Following her graduating, she returned to the Texas Panhandle to teach. After retiring from teaching, she moved to Weatherford and later Mineral Wells, where she became a substitute teacher.

She married Mathew Seltzer on October 13, 1989 in Weatherford. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Mineral Wells and was a great student of the Bible. She loved the Lord immensely and spreading His love.

Survivors include her husband, Mathew Seltzer of Mineral Wells; her children, Kevin Seltzer of Weatherford, Sheila Barker and husband, Steve, of Weatherford; her sister, Vicki Bos and husband, Ed, of Montgomery; her brother, Tommy George and wife, Leslie, of Austin; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one niece and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
