Cindy Harding

Cindy Harding, age 64, former Gouldbusk resident, died Tuesday, September 3, 2019, in Big Lake.  There will be a time of visitation from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, at Stevens Funeral Home, as well as a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, September 7.  There will be a procession to Gouldbusk, leaving the funeral home at 12:15,  with the service  at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Gouldbusk Cemetery Pavilion with Brother John Stanislaw officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gouldbusk Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Cynthia Gale Harding, born January 4th 1955, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2019 in Big Lake Texas.  Cindy Lou, as her family lovingly called her leaves behind her son Tyrell Mitchell Harding of Greenwood Texas, and wife Brittany Harding.  Tara Bell Alto (formerly Tuttle), of Reno Nevada.  Father, Hollis Key, of Grapecreek Texas and wife Wanda Key.  Brother Jeff Key of San Angelo Texas.  She is survived by many grandchildren, step-siblings cousins and loved ones.  And last, but not least to her, Casper and Caesar, her beloved dogs.

Cindy lived a good life in her 64 years.  Born in San Angelo Texas, she grew up in Star Texas, graduating in a class of 5, including her.  After graduation, she moved to Austin Texas where she met Johnnie Travis Tuttle, her first husband.  Johnnie, Cindy and Johnnie’s two sons, Shelby and Corey, moved out west to Lake Tahoe California.  Cindy’s first child, Tara Belle, was born in Carson City Nevada on January 1979.  Shortly after Tara’s birth, the family moved to Santa Anna Texas.  During these years Cindy enjoyed taking care of her family while working at the Santa Anna school cafeteria and later Bradley’s lumberyard where she met her dear friends Donna and Dale Bradley.

During her time at the Bradley’s lumberyard, she also met her second husband, Troy Michael Harding.  Troy, Cindy and Tara moved to Gouldbusk Texas in 1984 and were joined by Troy’s daughters, Troya and Makesha.  On July 7, 1986 their son, Tyrell Mitchell Harding was born.  As Cindy and Troy raised their family in Gouldbusk, Cindy did many things professionally – from bookkeeping, to mental health work, farming to truck driving in the 27 years she called Gouldbusk home.  She raised a beautiful family and made a beautiful home.  It was during these 27 years Cindy began her career in the Postal Service, becoming a Post Master that led to an almost 20 year career.  The Postal Service took Cindy to Rockwood, Gouldbusk and all over the great state of Texas, eventually taking her to Big Lake.  With her children grown, Cindy turned her focus to the Big Lake Post Office and life with her beloved two dogs – Casper and Ceasar.  Cindy was deeply devoted and loyal to the post office and was known to most everyone in Big Lake as she ran the post office there for 7 years – as was Caesar, as she took him to work with her every day.

It’s hard to define a life of a person in a short amount of words, especially a woman with so many talents as Cindy Lou.  The lady could grow anything, make anything she cooked taste good and we can’t think of anything she couldn’t make – by hand or with tools.  As a mother, wife, sister, aunt, friend or other – Cindy loved you fiercely.  Her honesty was always vivid and you were rarely spared from it.  But, those who knew and loved her could always find truth and loyalty in her love.  Those who worked with Cindy will always speak of her work ethic.  You would be hard pressed to find anyone more dedicated to her work – no matter the work she was doing.  In her last 20 years, her career at the Postal Service was a testament to this.  Through rain, snow or shine was an under statement when it came to Cindy and her work.

Through all of Cindy’s life,  she was a child of God and praised and gave him glory many times a day.  She studied her bible regularly, she would plead the blood over you and always knew and would tell you anything that happened, the lord had a plan and we were not to question his plan.  As Cindy is gone from this earth, we know she has angels watching over all of us left behind.  As Cindy Lou would say, Angels travel with you.
