Claris Fay Billings passed to Glory on March 16, 2025, at Coleman County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Coleman, Texas to Floyd Jenkins Sr. and Ovie Ivy Jenkins on January 20, 1929.

She attended Coleman schools graduating in 1947 as a charter member of the Coleman High School National Honor Society.

On August 17, 1947, she married Joseph Clovis Billings at Trinity Methodist Church in Coleman. They stock- farmed at Silver Valley. Claris was true to her name's meaning (famous faith) through many years of service in organizations including Silver Valley Home Demonstration Club, Trinity Methodist Women Society, Red Hats, and Meals on Wheels.

Claris was proceeded in death by her husband, daughter Pennie Lynn Jones, and two brothers: Wayne Bennett Jenkins and Floyd Jenkins Jr.

She is survived by one daughter Carla Jo Billings and two granddaughters: Elizabeth Violeta Billings and Lori Catherine Jones. They as many nieces and nephews will miss her baking and sewing talents. But mostly we cherish the stoic perseverance of her 96 year walk with Christ.

Services were entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
