Clyde Dempsey, age 70, of Coleman, died Saturday, April 05, 2014, at Coleman County Medical Center. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 7, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Stanislaw officiating. The visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday until service time.
Clyde Dempsey was born November 13, 1943 in Coleman County, Texas, a son of Walter Dempsey and Myrtle Smiley Dempsey. He grew up in the Grosvenor area and attended school at Burkett. Clyde worked in roofing and construction and was a Baptist. He moved to Coleman in 2004 and resided at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.
He is survived by one son, Johnny and Cindy Dempsey of Coleman; one daughter, Anita Williams and Tawana Gray of Lake Coleman; one brother, Bill Dempsey of Abilene; one sister, Pat Grider of Brownwood; two grandchildren, Stephanie Dempsey of Abilene, Josh Dempsey and Chelsey Slayton of Coleman; two great-grandchildren, Grayson Dempsey and John Koch; sister-in-law, Christine Dempsey of Coleman; numerous nieces and nephews.
