Dale Allison, age 85, of Lake Coleman, died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Hendrick Hospice in Abilene. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Sunday, December 8 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Taylor Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Dale Allison was born July 31, 1928 in Spur, Texas, a son of Alfred and Edith Allison. On May 14, 1948 he married Mary Hurene "Rene" Hemby in Lovington, NM. Dale was an iron worker, truck driver and rig builder. He lived in Odessa for 30 years before moving to Lake Coleman in 1987.
While living in Odessa, he attended Northside Baptist Church. After moving to Lake Coleman, he attended Community Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rene Allison of Lake Coleman; five children, Erlynda Bishop of Giddings, Sandra LaNell Smith and husband Randy of Mustang, Oklahoma, Michael Dale Allison and wife Brenda of Odessa, Debbie Sue Delnegro of Giddings and Larry Hugh Allison and wife Betty of Odessa; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four siblings, Vera Thompson, Sandra Lajean Clayton and Larry Don Allison all of Amarillo and Janice Kubica of Lubbock.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Marie Fiddle; a borther, Alfred Munroe Allison; two grandchildren, Robbie Dale Allison and Lary Dale Bishop.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
