Dean Gray

December 19, 1940 — March 4, 2015

Dean Gray, age 74, of San Angelo, and former Coleman resident, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in San Angelo. Graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with Brother Reuben Packer officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

Dean Gray was born December 19, 1940 in Burkett, Texas, a son of Annie Merle Walker Gray Trent and the late Lee Gray. Dean grew up in Coleman where he attended school. On July 4, 1959 he married Mollie Kay Jenkins in Coleman and she preceded him in death on November 8, 2000. He lived in San Antonio for 14 years before moving to San Angelo 16 years ago. He was an auto mechanic and worked for the Express News in San Antonio and the Standard-Times in San Angelo. He was employed as a mechanic at Benson Chrysler in San Antonio and D & D Garage in San Angelo. He was a member of North Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Annie Merle Trent of Coleman; two sisters, Anna Lee Collins of Cedar Hill and Lavada Burkey of Coleman; two brothers, Dan Gray of San Angelo and Glen Gray of Brownwood; three grandchildren, Shanda Carter of Weatherford, Felisha Lee of San Angelo and Jerry Lee of Monahans; one great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his two children, Johnny Gray and Donna Lee.

Visitation will be held Sunday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas 76834.
