Debra Savage Walton, a beloved soul whose bright and loving personality touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Born on May 8, 1959, in Ballinger, Texas, she grew up in Alice, Texas, where she attended school and developed a zest for life that would carry her through her many wonderful achievements.
Debra's career as a hot shot driver showcased her adventurous spirit and determination. In addition to this, she founded and operated her own flower shop in Coleman, bringing beauty and joy to the community around her. Her dedication to her work was only surpassed by her love for her family.
On June 4, 2004, Debra married David Wayne Walton in Victoria, Texas. Together, they blended their families, creating a tapestry of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will continue to resonate through the lives they touched.
Debra's greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her loving husband, David Walton of Westbrook, along with her children, Constance Gallaher Burnham and husband Ken of Midland, Michael Gallaher and wife Alexandria of Midland, Stephanie Gallaher Garcia and husband Johnathon of Midland, Dorie Walton of Victoria, and Natasha Tomkins and husband Jeff of Victoria. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren: Trace Burnham and wife Kylee, Dana Fletcher and husband Blake, Katelynn Burnham, Ryann Gallaher, Brody Gallaher, Rush Gallaher, Madilynn Harris, Christopher Harris, Faith Harris, Amber Leigh Walton, and Brendan Tomkins. Additionally, she is survived by one great-grandchild, Austyn Osborn, along with numerous nieces and nephew who she loved dearly.
Debra also shared a special bond with her brother, Robert Savage and wife Wendy of Midland, and her sister, Sandra Woodall of Midland. She touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed.
In her spare time, Debra enjoyed the great outdoors. Whether it was driving her tractor or skid steer, spending time at the lake on her boat, or indulging in fishing, she embraced life with enthusiasm and vigor.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Eugene Savage and Katherine June Ferguson Savage; one son, Cole Walton; and two brothers, Billy Wayne Savage and Robby Savage. Their memories now remain a cherished part of her legacy.
The family will host a visitation from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service celebrating her life at 10:30 AM Monday, April 7, 2025, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cliff DeArmond, pastor at Hope Alive Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
Debra Savage Walton will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her immense love for family, and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her.
