Devon Aaron Jeter Whitt

Devon Aaron Jeter Whitt, 15, of Coleman, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Coleman County Medical Center. A memorial service will be 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Panther Creek High School Gymnasium, 129 Private Road 3421, Valera, with Rev. Kevin Roman officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

Devon was born April 12, 2001 in Odessa to Wayne and Ryan Perry Whitt. He attended Panther Creek High School and was a Boy Scout. He loved playing football and basketball, riding four wheelers and dancing. Devon also loved to bake cookies and was not afraid to say "I love you, Mom" or "Give me a hug, Daddy" no matter who was around to see or hear. Devon was always ready to help a friend in need and loved to make everyone laugh. His laugh was contagious. Devon planned to follow in his father's footsteps of serving his country, by enlisting in the United States Air Force. Devon loved his family, was a big brother to Dana and Nelly and the best son a parent can have. Devon was a member of Valera Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents, Wayne and Ryan Whitt of Coleman; two sisters, Dana Whitt and Nelly Whitt both of Coleman; grandparents, Jerry and Diane Whitt of Nevada, Jan Lee of Santa Anna and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Devon was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Tad and Virginia Lee also known as Papaw and Granny.

Memorials in memory of Devon may be made the Boy Scouts of America or Meals On Wheels.
