Diane Mitchell

Diane Mitchell, age 57, of Coleman, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Dean officiating.

Interment will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, the cemetery where her father, Raymond Taylor Mitchell, is interred. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman, Texas.

She was born Patricia Diane Mitchell on August 27, 1960 in Houston, the daughter of Raymond Taylor Mitchell and Zava Lawanda Talley. She grew up in the Houston and Conroe area and lived there until moving to Coleman in 2012. Diana learned sign language and taught sign language to the deaf. She loved Dr. Pepper, McDonald’s chicken nuggets, and animals. She had a vibrant personality and loved to pick on and play with her family and friends.

She is survived by three brothers, Steven Everett Mitchell, Everett Taylor Mitchell, and Raymond Taylor Mitchell II (wife Karri) of Coleman; sister, Suzanne Rutan of Houston; step-mother, Frances Linscomb of Coleman; cousins, Marie Turner and Mary Bullock both of Splendora and Natalie Given of Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Taylor Mitchell, in 1989.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas 76834.
