Dorothy Taylor, 85, of Coleman, died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Rev. Jeff Dean officiating. Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
She was born Dorothy Pearl Jerden on February 10, 1930 in Farwell to Charley Wamble Jerden and Frances Catherine Van Zandt Jerden. She grew up in Seminole and Jayton and attended school in Jayton. She married Albert Lee Taylor on March 13, 1947 in Seminole. She followed him everywhere during his 20 year Military career, except when he was deployed overseas.
In 1970, Dorothy and Albert moved to Coleman from Nolan. She loved her friends and family, was a faithful Christian and a member of North Coleman Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Ronald Taylor and wife, Connie, of San Angelo, Mike Taylor and wife, Vickie, of Garland, Kenneth Taylor of Abilene, Cathy Taylor Thompson of Coleman; one sister, Flossie "Bill" Burns of Bowie; 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy is now reunited with her husband, Albert, who preceded her in death on May 13, 2007, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home.
