Dorothy Jane Blair Walters, age 73, of Brownwood, died Sunday, March 26, 2017, in Brownwood. Service will be held 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Pavilion at Leaday Cemetery. Burial will be in the Leaday Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.
She was born Dorothy Jane Blair on July 15, 1943, in Coleman, Texas, a daughter of Travis Blair and Dorothy Irene Loggins Blair. She grew up in Coleman, where she also attended school. She later graduated from Central Texas Commercial College. She worked as a Dispatcher for the Highway Department, later working at 3-M, where she operated a forklift. She then became a certified nurse’s aide and worked for home health. Dorothy had lived in Brownwood for over 30 years. She was a Baptist and was a charitable giver to various causes.
She is survived by three children, Danny Joe Cude of Dallas, Faleshia Darlene Harbison and husband John M. of Granbury, Sherry Delise Carter of Bangs; five grandchildren, Amilia Sloan, Brian Harbison, Sarah Jane Harbison, Ashley Carter and Julia Mason; three great-grandchildren, Sydney Sloan, Madison Sloan and Lillian Grace Rodriguez.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners.
