Edith May Bullock

Do to the weather, the graveside service for Mrs. Edith Bullock will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015.

Edith May Parker Bullock, age 98, of Coleman, died Monday, January 19, 2014, at The Oaks at Radford Hills in Abilene. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, at 2:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating. Interment will be in the Glen Cove Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Edith May on July 13, 1916 in Oxine, Runnels County, Texas, a daughter of Alfred C. May and Nota Mae Barmore May. She grew up in Glen Cove where she attended school and graduated from Talpa High School in 1935. On February 11, 1939 she married Ralph Granville Parker. They loved to travel and visit family and friends. He died July 25, 1966. She married David Bullock on November 5, 1978 and they enjoyed camping at Hord’s Creek. He died on December 11, 1988.

Edith worked at Independent Grocers in Abilene for over 30 years as a buyer, ordering tobacco products for the Abilene district. Edith moved to Coleman in 1981 and has lived here since that time. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Coleman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Chloris Kincaid, Bessie Rice and Myrtle (Spud) Hays.

She is survived by a niece and nephew, Darlena and Dale Wright of Abilene; a brother, Clayton and wife Ruth May of Whitney; many other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 Thursday at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, followed by a procession to Glen Cove Cemetery, Coleman County, Texas.
