Elmer Eugene "Gene" Bell

Elmer Eugene “Gene” Bell, 91, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Bangs Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Jim Maxwell officiating.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

Gene was born on June 11, 1926 in Doole, Texas to Elmer Clarence Bell and Lula Elizabeth McMillan Bell.  He married Emma Ruth Stegall on January 1, 1944 in Stacey, Texas.  God blessed them with three daughters, Doris Jean Kelly, Brenda Joyce Bell and Alice Ruth Hoisington.  Gene was a masonry contractor for over 70 years and was a resident of this area for over 50 years.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, and daughter, Brenda, parents, 8 brothers and 2 sisters.  He is survived by two daughters, Doris Jean Kelly and husband Phil of McGregor and Alice Ruth Hoisington and husband Paul of Bangs; granddaughters Kristie Davis of Waco and Karla Cahill and husband Sean of Temple; grandsons Kameron and Isaiah and granddaughters Alexis, Mariah, and Sybilla of Bangs and great granddaughter Kelly Ann Davis of Waco.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Hendrick Medical Center of Abilene for their kind and understanding care.
