She was born Gerda Eva Roth on December 7, 1934 in Mannheim, Germany, the daughter of Jakob and Eva Roth. She grew up in Mannheim and attended school there. On September 22, 1956, she married Hollaway Parker, a young soldier from Coleman, Texas, who was serving in the United States Army. Following their marriage, Eva emigrated to the United States and became a naturalized citizen. She and Hollaway lived in Borger from 1958 until 1984, where they raised their daughters. While living there she was active with the Bluebonnet Home Demonstration Club. In 1984 they moved to Coleman County to the family ranch where they enjoyed so many happy years. Hollaway died suddenly on June 14, 2012 and Eva continued to live on the home place. She was a homemaker and as a child was a member of the Lutheran Church. Eva loved her family and she will be greatly missed by them.
