Eva Ruth Gardner Traylor, age 96, entered her heavenly home on October 19, 2013. Graveside funeral service will be held 12 Noon on Monday, October 21 at the Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Josh Pruett officiating. Burial will be in the Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
She was born to William Fulton Gardner and Grace Mae McCarroll Gardner March 27, 1917 in Coleman County, Texas. She married Martin Teague Traylor November 25, 1934 in First Baptist Church, Coleman, Texas.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she spent her life caring for her family. Nothing ever compared to her hot homemade bread. She was well-known for giving her fresh baked goods to friends, neighbors, and anyone who was ill or needed help. She was a long-time member of The Fisherman's Chapel Church at Lake Brownwood where she was famous for appearing each Sunday with hot homemade cinnamon rolls.
She is survived by her children: daughter Nita Traylor Breedlove of Lake Brownwood; sons Bobby Joe Traylor and wife Carol of Snyder, and Jimmy Wayne Traylor and wife Lynn of San Saba, son-in-law Charlie Abbey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Ann Abbey, Linda Ferguson, Greg Breedlove, Scott Breedlove, Jon Traylor, Angie Cairo, Mark Brewer, Denise Bartlett, Rene Traylor-Blackwell and Todd Traylor; eleven great-grandchildren, Chris Ferguson, Steve Ferguson, Ami Breedlove Mayfield, Peyton Traylor, Amanda Cairo, Bailey Soltow, Emily Soltow, Tyler Soltow, Nicholas Traylor, Ashley Traylor and Jacob Traylor; ten great-great grandchildren, Rylie Ferguson, Piper Ferguson, Reece Ferguson, Nicole Ferguson, Zach Ferguson, Alexis Ferguson, Maddison Ferguson, Hailey Ferguson, Ryker Ferguson and Charles Henry Mayfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, daughter Betty Jeane Abbey, grandson, Monty Teague Traylor and son-in-law Charles Breedlove.
There will be a visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 21 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas.
