Frank Brooks, age 75, of Abilene, passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at his residence.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

He was born Frank Vernon Brooks on December 15, 1942 to James Vernon Brooks and Ruth Elaine Gillispie Brooks.  Frank grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School in 1961.  He married Joann Anderson on February 4, 1978 in San Angelo.  Frank and Joann lived in Big Springs for 37 years until moving to Abilene in 2013.  Frank sold cars for Bob Brock in Big Spring for 16 years.  He then worked for Affiliated Foods in Midland, Furr’s Supermaket, and Safeway Food Store where he retired after 26 years.  Frank was a proud member of the NRA.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Jimmie Ruth Hubbard.

Frank is survived by his wife, Joann Brooks of Abilene; six children, James Brooks of Mertzon, Duane Brooks of Mertzon, Nicole Thorp of Knickerbocker, Darryl Hammonds of Twenty-Nine Palms, CA, Randall Conner of Big Spring, and Troy Conner, Jr. of Big Spring; several grandchildren & great-granchildren; one sister, Brenda Wisener of Coleman; and one brother, Steve Brooks of Corpus Christi.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street in Coleman.
