Frank E. "Ed" Eldred, 70, of Coleman, died Friday, November 15, 2013 at the VA Hospital in Temple. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dick Schultz officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.



Frank E. "Ed" Eldred was born February 4, 1943 in Coleman to Frank Eugene Eldred and Ruby Samantha Brown. Ed grew up in Coleman and attended school at Talpa-Centennial and served in the United States Army. On July 20, 1977, Ed married Betty Hubach in Winters. Ed worked in the oil field as a roust-a-bout and helped moved rigs from one job site to another. He was a member of Valera Baptist Church.



Survivors include five children, Salinda Dell Thomas and husband, Wintson, of May, Chris Eldred and wife, Kaylene of Coleman, George Eldred and wife, Terrie Lynn, of Coleman, Crystal Espino and husband, Juan, of Winters, Michael Huback and wife, Vera, of Coleman; five brothers and sisters, Mack Eldred and wife, Glenda, of Ballinger, Danny Eldred and wife, Jan, of Ballinger, Walter Larry Eldred and wife, Elfredia, of San Angelo, Martha Whitaker and husband, George, of Coleman, Shirley Davis and husband, Bennie; a sister-in-law, Carol Clark of Coleman and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty on April 1, 2012 and a son, Ricky Eldred.



Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 at the funeral home.



Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
