Gail Clark, age 75, of Coleman, died Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

A graveside funeral service will be at 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Jeff Dean officiating.  Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

He was born Gail Mackclain Clark on September 26, 1945 in Abilene to Creed M. Clark and L.V. Polk Clark.  Gail grew up in Abilene and Hawley.  He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Gail married Katie Schutz on September 30, 1974 in Dallas.  He worked in the heating and air conditioning business and then went on to be a correctional officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.  Gail worked at the Thomas R. Havins unit in Brownwood and the Region IV unit in Beeville.  Gail was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  His favorites thing was to spend time with his grandchildren and take them on trips.  One of his favorite times was when he took his grandchildren to Disney World.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Gail is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jessie Savage and Jerry Savage.

He is survived by his wife, Katie Lynn Clark of Coleman; his daughters, Tammy Clark-Goodson and husband Thomas of Lincoln, Crystal Clark of Coleman, Katie Ann Clark-Strickland and husband Jacob of Burkett, and Vanessa Gail Clark of Coleman; his grandchildren, Brianna, Haily, Lydia, Jason, Kylie, Averie, Emma Gail, and Olivia Ann; and his brother, James Doyle Savage and wife Sandy of Lindale.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Gail to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
