Garnie Lee Harrison

Garnie Lee Harrison, 65, of Novice, died Monday, May 8, 2017 at his residence. No services are planned. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

Garnie Lee Harrison was born December 5, 1951 in Dobson, North Carolina to Garnie and Edna Mildred Lucas Harrison. He grew up in Dobson and graduated from school there. He later graduated from Surry Community College in Dobson and attended the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. He served in the United States Army for three years.

After his honorable discharge from the Army, Lee moved to Houston in 1976. He worked as an X-Ray Tech and Lab Tech and was part owner/operator of a trucking company. He also bought and sold antiques. He moved to Novice in 1995.

Survivors include 13 nieces and nephews; special neighbors, Shorty Coates, Jimmy McClung, Donna and Charlie Stevens and his caretaker for the last three years, Joan Keeney.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
