Gary Crump

July 16, 1944 — October 20, 2017

Gary Crump, 73, of Coleman, died Friday, October 20, 2017 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Rev. Joe Frausto officiating. Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Gary Harold Crump was born July 16, 1944 in San Antonio to Jack Aubrey and Cleo Ruth Thompson Crump. He grew up in Coleman and played football for the Coleman Bluecats, graduating from Coleman High School. He married Betty June Templin 52 years ago on June 18, 1965 in Coleman. Gary worked for Superior Cable in Brownwood for 45 years, retiring as the Shipping and Receiving Manager. He was an avid fisherman, Dallas Cowboys and Coleman Bluecat fan. While in the hospital, he listened to his last Friday night Bluecat Football game over his phone. But most of all, he was a loving husband, father, grandpa, pawpaw and great grandpa.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Crump of Coleman; three children, Michelle Moses and husband, Rick, of Post, Gary Crump and wife, Lisa, of Louisville, Kentucky, Tracy Pruitt and husband, Matt of Graham; eight grandchildren, Kristen Blacklock and husband, Jerry, of Post, Justin Moses of Rifle, Colorado, Alexander Crump of Louisville, Kentucky, Devin Windham and wife, Tera, of Wichita Falls, Samantha Little and husband, Sheridan, of New Castle, Grace Windham of Graham, Emilee Pruitt of Graham, Derek Baynes of North Carolina; three great grandchildren, Everleigh Little of New Castle, Arrowbella Pruitt of Graham, Keason Little of New Castle along with one great grandchild who has yet to arrive.

Along with his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Jack Crump and a granddaughter, Stephanie Windham.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Stevens Funeral Home.
