George Luis Saez, Sr

George L. Saez, Sr., 73, of Coleman, died Monday, June 8, 2015, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Rev. Tony Pittman officiating, assisted by Rev. James Posey and George Saez, Jr. Burial will follow in the Burkett Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

George L. Saez, Sr., was born January 15, 1942 in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico to Jose Luis and Marie Antoinette Saez. At the age of eight, he moved with his family to Chicago, Illinois. In 1964, he married Hope Martinez in Chicago. He worked as a mechanic. In 1997, he moved to Coleman. He loved fishing and sharing the Gospel. He was a member of the Jesus Saves Ministries in Coleman.

Survivors include four children, George Saez, Jr. and wife, Tina, of Houston, Jose Luis Saez and wife, Fabesi, of Chicago, Marie Saez of Chicago, Richard Saez and wife, Elisha, of Chicago; one sister, Daisy Saez of Ohio; two brothers, Tony Saez of Chicago, Alberto Saez of California and 20 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Hope, on September 3, 2001.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home.
