Geraldine (Martin) Monroe

Geraldine Monroe, age 90, of Coleman, died Thursday, May 28, 2020 at her residence.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the Glen Cove Cemetery.  Interment will follow in the Glen Cove Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

She was born Geraldine Martin on May 30, 1929 in May, Texas to William Owen “W.O” Martin and Ruth Magdalene Pyron Martin.  Geraldine attended school at Glen Cove and graduated from Talpa Centennial.  She moved to Andrews, Texas in 1953 and became the secretary and office manager for Eddins-Walcher for many years.  Geraldine moved back to Coleman six years ago and became a member of the Concho Street Baptist Church.  She loved to play the piano, sing, dance, and crochet.  Most of all, Geraldine loved spending time with her family and held each one close to her heart.  She will be missed by her family and all that knew her.

Geraldine is preceded in death by her son, Floyd Monroe; her brothers, Floyd Martin, and Owen Martin; her sisters, Margarite Curtis, Bill Mayfield, Olene Boyd, and Ottie Mayo.

She is survived by her daughter, Nelda Couch of Coleman, and many nieces and nephews.
