Glen McDonald

Glen McDonald, 75, of Coleman, died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Tim Baugh officiating. Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

He was born Gerald Glen McDonald on May 29, 1938 in Coleman County to Newton Carl McDonald, Sr. and Maxie Williams McDonald. He grew up in Coleman attended school at Loss Creek, Mozelle and Coleman High School. He married Dorothy Elkin on September 5, 1959 in Coleman. He worked for Dal-Tile, Charlie Cullins and West Texas Gas. He was a member of Concho Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy McDonald of Coleman; one son, Ricky McDonald and wife, Michelle, of Abilene; one daughter, Sandra Wells and husband, Steven, of Corpus Christi; two grandchildren, Tamatha Vinson and husband, Caleb, of Abilene, Channing McDonald of Abilene; sisters-in-law, Ann McDonald of Brownwood, Joyce McDonald of Abilene; one brother-in-law, Elmer Elkin of San Angelo and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ouida Philmon, Jean Davis; five brothers, Bobby McDonald, Frank McDonald, Carl McDonald, Jr., Jackie McDonald and Bill McDonald.

Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Stevens Funeral Home.
