Helen Cox Lowe

Helen Cox Lowe, age 78, of Coleman, died Saturday, March 11, 2017, in Coleman. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 15, at 10:30 a.m. in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Guy Lowe, her son, officiating and Bob Martin and Sam Wilson assisting. Burial will follow in the Shields Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Helen Allene Cox on June 26, 1938, in Ballinger, a daughter of Raymond Alvey Cox and Mamie Jewel Walker Cox. She grew up in Ballinger and Denton Valley and moved to Coleman in the 1950’s. On July 2, 1955, she married Billy G. Lowe in Coleman and he preceded her in death on October 3, 2013. Helen was a hairdresser and owned and operated her own shop, which was called Helen’s Hairstyles. She was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sons, Ray and wife Ramona Lowe of Waco, Guy and wife Tracy Lowe of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; one daughter, Paula and husband David Diaz of Coleman; fourteen grandchildren, Nathan, Mindy, Alicia, Mikey, Jessica, Alli, Haylee, Wesley, Camden, Sheldon, Sabra, Courtney, Kelley and Zachary; nineteen great-grandchildren, Tarynn, Tayver, Taytem, Kylee, Remi, Jaelyn, Mylie, Abbi, Joseph, Paige, Hunter, Emily, Stetson, Sterling, Emma, Caleb, Jacob, Haydin and Carson; two sisters, Carolyn and husband Arthur Windham of Coleman, Patsy and husband Wilburn Kimbro of Olney; sister-in-law, Pauline Williams of Coleman.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Betty Keith, a daughter, Pennye Lowe on December 25, 2015.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas 76834.
