Howard R. Andrews, 79, of Coleman, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Cross Plains Cemetery in Cross Plains. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
He was born Howard Ray Andrews on August 14, 1937 in Livingston, Texas to Raymond Howard Andrews and Monnie Lee Franklin Andrews. He grew up in Livingston, Cross Plains, DeLeon and Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School. Howard served his country proudly, by enlisting in the United States Army. He worked for El Paso Natural Gas Company in Farmington, New Mexico for 32 years, working in the clerical, accounting and payroll departments. He moved back to Coleman in 2000. He was a member of Concho Baptist Church.
Survivors include one aunt, Bertha Andrews of Coleman, three nieces, Vickie Hale and husband, Joe, of Coleman, Anita Floyd and husband, Thomas, of Coleman, Lee Ann Brooks and husband, Rex, of Coleman; great nieces and great nephews, Leslie Jones of Coleman, Jeremy and Taya Monroe of San Angelo, Brandon and Minga Owen of Baird, Zackary McDonald of Coleman, Lauren Brooks of Coleman and several great-great nieces and great-great nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret McDonald.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Stevens Funeral Home.
