Ila Mavis Croft

Ila Mavis Croft, 81, of Coleman, died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at her residence. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Rev. Rocky Lindley officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Ila Mavis Preas on February 14, 1932 in Coleman to Roy Creston Preas and Ila B. Yancy Preas. She grew up and attended school in Coleman. On August 11, 1949, she married Cleo "Buddy" Croft in Coleman. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2006. She was a stay at home mom, raising 10 children and was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

Survivors include nine children, Margie and Ray Valdez of Brownwood, Wayne and Linda Croft of Brownwood, Gigger and Sheilia Croft of Freeport, Debbie Dunn of Miller Grove, Bobby Croft of Coleman, Tammy Thomas of Hollister, Missouri, Opal and Darrell Fletcher of Coleman, Marie and Rusty Mills of Coleman, Buddy and Brandy Croft of Abilene; seven brothers and sisters, Gloria Anglin of Austin, Mary Childers of Austin, Cornelia Scott of Rockport, Jerry Preas of Midland, Bob Johns of Guam, Glen Johns of Austin, Windel Preas of Houston; 28 granchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo "Buddy" Croft; one son, Douglas Croft and one grandson, T.K. Goree.

Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Funeral Home.
