Jack Moore

Jack B. Moore, age 84, of Coleman, died Monday, December 2, 2013 at Coleman County Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Coleman. Burial will follow in the Valera Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.


Jack B. Moore was born May 1, 1929, in Valera, a son of William (Bill) Moore and Tina (Tiny) Snider Moore. He grew up in Valera and attended school at Centennial. Jack served his country in the United States Army from 1954-1956. On November 29, 1957, he married Barbra Witte in Lyons, Texas. She preceded him in death on January 26, 2006.


Jack was employed by the Atcheson-Topeka-Santa Fe Railroad and retired from there after almost 40 years. He lived in various towns in Texas and Oklahoma and moved to Coleman with his family 43 years ago. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Isaac Sunday School Class, and the Silver Threads.


He is survived by two children, Evyonne Curry and husband Mike and Kenny Moore and wife Nivla, all of Coleman; four grandchildren, Tammy Withers and husband Cory, Janet Lindley and husband Garrett all of Abilene, Trebor Moore and wife Stacie of Coleman and Tyler Moore of El Paso; great-grandchildren, Braxdyn Withers and Jazz Jones of Abilene, Alyssa Moore and Quinn Moore of Coleman; three siblings, Floyd Moore and wife Bonnie of Santa Anna, Flossie French of Coleman and R. D. Moore and wife Joyce of Sweetwater.


Visitation will be Tuesday, December 3 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman.


Memorials may be made to any local charity.
