James Curtis, age 82, of Coleman, died Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.
Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Chas Shira, pastor at First Baptist Church, officiating. A private interment will be in the Regency Cemetery in Mills County. Viewing will begin at 8:00 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
He was born James Monroe Curtis on December 17, 1938, in Mills County, Texas to Elwin Carl Curtis and Mary Oneita Miller Curtis. James grew up in Santa Anna and graduated from Santa Anna High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy. James worked as a welder and aviation mechanic.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Elwin and Mary Curtis, and two brothers, Carl Winston Curtis, and Richard Vincent Curtis.
He is survived by one brother, Barry Norman Curtis; and multiple nieces and nephews.
