James "Jimmy" White

James “Jimmy” White, age 81, of Santa Anna, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Coleman County Medical Center.

He was born James Franklin White on November 1, 1939 in Eastland to Fowler White and Era Augustine Marshall White.  Jimmy grew up in Mullin and graduated from Mullin High School.  He then attended Sam Houston State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in education.  Jimmy taught for the Zephyr Independent School district for several years.  He taught science, agriculture, and was the coach for the basketball team.  Jimmy then went to work for Oncor and retired after 30 years of service.  He married Linda Faye Robinett on December 23, 1978 in Santa Anna.  Jimmy loved to hunt, fish, and cook anything  his heart desired.  He was gifted with many talents, such as building black powder rifles and he rebuilt a 1929 Ford Sedan.  Most of all Jimmy loved his family.  He was a devoted husband and loving father to his children.  Jimmy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mullin.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Fowler and Era White, and brother-in-law, Bill Grady.

He is survived by his wife, Linda White of Santa Anna; his children, Penny White of Brownwood, Cindy Pelton and husband James of Santa Anna, and Troy Pierce and wife Mindy of Hewitt; his grandchildren, Chrystal Pelton of Santa Anna, Jennifer Rambo and husband Josh of Santa Anna, Jessica Cheaney and husband Chris of Round Rock, Walker Pierce, Hadlee Pierce, and Hudson Pierce all of Hewitt; his great-grandchildren, Jayden Rambo, Dawson Rambo, Jolie Rambo, Luke Kerr, Maggie Cheaney, and Anna Cheaney; his great-great-grandson, Kyson Rambo; his sister, Barbara Grady of Mullin; sisters-in-law, Jean Findley and husband Ray of Santa Anna, Gail Horner and husband Richard of Santa Anna; brother-in-law,  David Robinett and wife Shelly of Santa Anna; nephews, Billy Grady and wife Dana of Brownwood, Kim Grady and wife Linda of Ballinger; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home.
