Jerry Glen Baugh

Jerry Glen Baugh, of Coleman, Texas, passed away on January 31, 2025. He was born in Nueces County, Texas, on December 16, 1940, to John Wesley Baugh and Mildred R. White. Jerry graduated Highschool in 1959 from Gatesville, Texas.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wesley Joe Baugh, his son Wesley Duane Baugh and niece Lynell Hughes.

In his younger years, Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, including a deployment to Korea. An avid outdoorsman, he found great joy in fishing and hunting in the backcountry of Colorado. He was a master at the pool table, an expert in the game of 42, and for those lucky enough to know him, his talent for speaking backward was always a source of laughter and amazement.

Jerry never forgot a birthday, always calling his loved ones to celebrate their special day. Known for his sharp mind and exceptional memory, he had a larger-than-life personality and never met a stranger—he could strike up a conversation with anyone, even a fence post. A true businessman and entrepreneur, Jerry built the Hitchin’ Post in Norwood, Colorado, and the Buggy Wheel in Coleman, Texas. He was a passionate socialite, always at home in any establishment where bingo or poker was played—both of which he mastered.

He is survived by his sister Janette Baugh of Bakersfield, CA; Delores Beralek (husband Larry) of Axtell, TX, and Vicky Jaramillo (husband Sonny) of Temple, TX; his daughters Jerrikaye Majkszak and Kelli Tudyk, both of Llano, TX; his son Joe Baugh of Diboll, TX; grandsons Daniel Hipp (wife Jennifer) of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and Kenton Tudyk of Llano, TX; granddaughters Avery Tudyk and Lauren Tudyk, both of Llano, TX, and Aleja Baugh and Sara Baugh, both of Olathe, CO; and great-grandchildren Kylie Hipp, Remington Hipp, Kayelee Hipp, and Raini Hipp. Nieces and Nephews Lori Wiggins, Steve Allen Wiggins, Justin Beralek, John Baugh and Lesa Jaramillo.

 A Ceremony will be held at Santa Anna Cemetery on March 1, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Buggy Wheel in Coleman, TX.

Jerry’s legacy of warmth, wit, and adventurous spirit will live on in the many hearts he touched.
