Jesse Lynn Mills, Sr

Jesse Lynn Mills, Sr., age 67, of Coleman, died Thursday, January 15, 2015, in Brownwood. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, at the Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Darrell Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Jesse Lynn Mills, Sr. was born February 19, 1947 in Coleman, Texas, a son of John Thomas Mills and Lula Mae Gilliam Mills. He grew up in Coleman where he also attended school. Jesse was married to Linda Brooks from 1965-1983. In 1986 he married Rose Mannino.

Jesse, Sr. was in the roofing business and was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife; seven children, Jesse Lynn Mills, Jr. and wife Rae Ann of Coleman, Trina Annette Whinery and husband Rocky III of Brownwood, Tammy Fay Arreola and husband Manuel of Brownwood, Jessica Rose Lynn Manino Mills and Andrea Lynn Mills both of Coleman, Charles Lee Brooks and wife Deb of Snyder and Christopher Edward Brooks of Colorado City; one sister, Tommie Sue Brooks and husband Tommy of Coleman; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Glenn and Wilma Mills, a sister, Patsy Dempsey, his father, John Mills and his mother, Lula Mae Mills, brother-in-law Clyde Dempsey and a grandson, Rocky Whinery IV.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan, Coleman, Texas.
