Jesus “Jessie” Bernal, age 60, of Coleman, died Monday, December 26, 2022, at Coleman County Medical Center.
Jessie was born June 4, 1962, in Slaton, Texas to Christobal Bernal and Mary Palacio Bernal. He grew up in Plains, Texas where he attended school. Jessie was a mechanic and could build just about anything. He was also a computer technician for many years. Jessie married Kimberly Suzanne Caldwell on December 18, 2021, in Cleveland, Texas. His family will miss his jokes, personality, and listening to him play the piano.
Preceding Jessie in death are his parents, Christobal and Mary Bernal; and two brothers, Eric Bernal, and John Bernal.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Bernal of Coleman; two children, Amber Dawn McKinney of Hawley, and Cody Bernal of Louisiana; two grandchildren, Jake Tucker McKinney and Alexandria Renee McKinney; two stepchildren, Meagan Mays of San Angelo and Andrew Major Hollenbeck of San Angelo; three brothers, Ignacio Bernal, Jimmy Bernal, and Rosendo Bernal; five sisters, Carroll Collard, Dora Ward, Mary Cogburn, Josie Trevino, and Jovita Trevino.
In honoring Jessie’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no services will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
