Jim Bob Culwell

March 10, 1941 — October 25, 2015

Jim Bob Culwell, 74, of Novice, died Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Graveside funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Rough Creek Cemetery Pavilion in Novice with Rev. John Stanislaw officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

Jim Bob Culwell was born March 10, 1941 in Parker County to James E. Culwell and Margaret Reynolds Culwell. He grew up in Springtown and attended school there. Jim Bob started Culwell Masonry when he was 18 years old. He moved to Novice in 1980. On December 18, 1984, Jim Bob married Eula Mae Plummer in Ballinger. Jim Bob was a workaholic. He was always working somewhere.

Survivors include four children, Jim Bob Culwell, II, Cody Culwell and wife, Jennifer, of Novice, Scott Culwell of Novice, Brian Culwell and wife, Missy, of Santa Anna; his father, James E. Culwell of Novice; one sister, Ruth Ann McClain and husband, Charles, of San Angelo and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Culwell on January 9, 2000; his wife, Eula Mae Culwell on March 1, 2014 and a son, Kevin Scott Culwell.

A visitation with the family will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Jim Bob to Hendrick Hospice, 1682 Hickory Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
