Joyce (Grant) Klingberg

Joyce Klingberg, age 76, of Cross Plains, died Friday, January 29, 2021 in Fort Worth.

Joyce was born November 26, 1944 in Quinlan, Texas to Claude Grant and Opal Mae Brown Grant. She grew up in Quinlan where she attended school. Joyce then attended cosmetology school and Eastfield College in Mesquite. She married Roger Rune Klingberg on April 17, 1975 in Rockwall. Joyce had many roles in her work career. She was a beautician and owned Joyce’s Hair Design in Cross Plains. She also worked at Citizens State Bank in Cross Plains and then went to work with her husband in the oil field business. Joyce could drive a winch truck better than anyone. She loved life and loved her family even more. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities. Joyce also enjoyed shopping for bargains and doodling in artwork. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cross Plains and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Lodge 170 in Quinlan. Joyce was a beautiful woman inside and out. She will be deeply missed.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Leifton Hunter; and her brother, Richard Grant.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Klingberg of Cross Plains; her daughters, Terri Hunter and husband Ken of Coleman County, Tammy Horton of Brownwood, and Joy Dixson and husband Jamie of Burleson; her grandchildren, Kristin McClure, Barron Dixson, and Gavin Dixson; her great-grandchildren, Kashlyn McClure, Cross McClure, and Tymber Lackey; and one sister, Mavis Ryan of Quinlan.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Joyce to the Cross Plains Community Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 183, Cross Plains, Texas 76443.

A private family graveside service was held at the Burkett Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
