Kay Adams, age 71, of Coleman, died Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. There will be a viewing/visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, with her family being present from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. At her request, her body will be donated to the Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock for medical research.
She was born Elberta Kay Tate on July 2, 1945 in Borger, Texas, the daughter of Elijah Elbert Tate and Mintie Belle Speegle Tate. She grew up in Borger and attended school at Borger and Stinnett. She lived in Lubbock for 20 years, then to Borger and Hale Center before moving to Coleman in 2015. On July 3, 2004 she married Billie Adams in New Deal, Texas. She was retired as a bookkeeper for a construction company. She was Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Adams of Coleman; three daughters, Natalie Kay Gilbreth of Lubbock, Valerie Anne Cantrell and Glynda Gail Robison both of Amarillo; one brother, Elijah Elbert Tate, Jr. of Fritch; five grandsons, Jonathan, Hayden, Dustin, Nathan and Deonne; one great-grandson, Cory.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
