Lance Wesley Hinds, age 30, of Coleman, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 in Coleman. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, at First Baptist Church, 200 E. College, Coleman. Rev. Gary Boyd and Rev. John Stanislaw will officiate. Burial will follow in the Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Lance was born March 2, 1983 in Brownwood, a son of Philip and Amy Glasson Hinds. He grew up in Coleman where he attended school, graduating in 2001. He attended TSTC in Brownwood and was a self-employed welder.
He grew up in First Baptist Church, loved baseball and was a pitcher for the Coleman Bluecats. He liked to rope and ride horses.
Survivors include his parents, Philip and Amy Hinds of Coleman; one sister by birth, Crystal Rae of Coleman and one sister by love, Sharne Rees of Melbourne, Australia; one brother, Trey Hinds of Odessa; two sons, Rowdy Hinds of Cross Plains and Ralston Hinds of Coleman; grandparents, Carroll and Addie Hinds of Glen Cove and Doyle Glasson of Coleman; three nieces, Jordan, Paisley and Brynley Rae all of Coleman; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family suggests memorials be made to Celebrate Recovery, c/o Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, 1815 Cogin Avenue, Brownwood, Texas 76801 or the donor's favorite charity.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman.
