Linda (Green) Chantaca

Linda Chantaca, age 61, of Talpa, died Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at her residence.

The family will host a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.  Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the Talpa Cemetery Pavilion.  Interment will follow in the Talpa Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

She was born Linda Joyce Green on January 12, 1960, in Kaufman, Texas to Henry Clifton Green and Wanda Jean Warren Green.  Linda grew up in Talpa and Dallas.  She married Richard “Rick” Chantaca on April 1, 1977, in Dallas.  Linda was a rancher and horse trainer.  She loved being outdoors and working with her horses.  Linda had a gift in training and breaking horses, and she loved every minute of it.  She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.  Linda also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loving on her cats.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Debbie Ainsworth and Shirley Baker.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Chantaca of Talpa; her daughter, Christy Hamilton and husband John of Coleman; her grandchildren, Henry Hamilton, Katie Hamilton, and Megan Higgins; one brother, Henry C. Green, Jr. and wife Kathryn of McKinney; special niece, Rachel Gilbert and special nephews, Todd Gilbert and Brady Watson; and her cat, Stitch.
