Linda Sue Day

Linda Sue Barkemeyer Day, age 63, died on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

Linda was born on April 13,1954 in Coleman,Texas to Robert L. Barkemeyer and Thelma Steffey-Barkemeyer. She attended Coleman County Schools all her life and completed high school in 1972; also in 1972 she married Kenneth Roy Day and in 1977 brought into this world a daughter. Linda attended the North Coleman Baptist Church of Coleman and worked at Holiday Hill as a CNA.

Those Left behind to cherish the precious memories of our beloved Linda are: Her mother Thelma Steffey-Barkemeyer (preceded in death:Robert L Barkemeyer: Father). One daughter: Talena Day-Faries (Tyson Faries: Husband). Three grandchildren: One Granddaughter: Chelsey Gray ( David Gray: Husband). Two grandsons: Dakota Taylor and James Adam Taylor. One great granddaughter: Faith Gray. Two brothers; Robbie Barkemeyer (Ann Barkemeyer:Wife) and Johnny Barkemeyer (Julia Barkemeyer:Wife)

Extended family are: Jody Storey (preceded in death:Robert Storey: Husband), Jeannie Lee Driskill-Smth (James Smith: Husband), Robbie Nichols (Jeff Nichols :Husband), Katherine Davis-Richardson (Terry Richardson:Husband) and James Davis.

*Closest friends: Linda Christian, Pam Chidress, and Patsy Driskill.*

(She also left behind: many nieces and nephews.)

Linda was a kind soul graced by God's love. She nourished our accomplishments and surrounded us with love. Enlightened us with joy. Accepted our faults and shielded us through troubled times. Most of all inspired us to be the best we could be.

On May 13th 5:45 a.m. Linda Sue Barkemeyer-Day closed her eyes and took a breath for the last time. She is in peace now. There is no more pain. We pray for strength to comfort the family through these sad times and know that their beloved Linda can rest now in the house of our Lord.
