Loma Gayle Gilbreth, born on December 25, 1938, in Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Coleman County Medical Center. She lived a fulfilling life dedicated to her family, and her warmth and kindness will be cherished by those who knew her.
Loma grew up in Wichita Falls and Abilene, where she attended school. After beginning her career as a bookkeeper, she devoted herself to being a full-time mother and homemaker, roles she cherished deeply. Loma was immensely proud of her husband, Otis D. Gilbreth, whom she married on December 7, 1956, in Abilene, and her two sons, Tim and Vincent. Her greatest joy came from nurturing her family.
Loma had a vibrant spirit and a passion for life, enjoying camping trips, exploring new places, and spending time with her beloved pets. She found happiness in the simple pleasures and made countless memories with her family along the way.
Loma is survived by her loving husband, Otis Gilbreth of Lake Coleman; one son, Tim Gilbreth and wife Michelle of New Braunfels; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Justine Gilbreth; and one sister, Peggy Baker of Abilene. Her legacy will continue through them and the many lives she touched during her lifetime.
Loma is preceded in death by her parents, Troy Wood and Bennie Jones Wood, and her son, Vincent Gilbreth.
The family will host a visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
