Loraine Oxford, age 86, of Coleman, died Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Hendrick Medical Center. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2014, at Community Baptist Church, 216 Lackland, Coleman. Interment will follow in the Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
She was born Loraine Beatrice Laws on February 15, 1928 in Coleman, the daughter of Leslie Laws and Della Welty Laws. She grew up in Coleman, where she attended school. On May 30, 1946, she married Phillip Oxford in Coleman and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2002. Loraine was a life-long resident of Coleman, a homemaker, and a member of Community Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, David and wife Janet Oxford of Shelton, Connecticut and Alan and wife Leigh Oxford of Abilene; five grandchildren, Stephanie Oxford of South Dakota, Amy Oxford of Austin, Jonathon Oxford of Eastland, Brandon Oxford of Arlington and Alexis Cohen of Abilene; three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Civil Laws.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan, Coleman, Texas.
