Loretta Fenton, age 87, life-long Coleman resident, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Coleman Healthcare Center. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 10 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan, Coleman. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
She was bon Loretta Mattie Keeney on March 20, 1926, a daughter of Isaac Lee Keeney and Mary Elizabeth Hartman Keeney. She grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School in 1943. On October 19, 1949 she married Hiram Frank (H.F.) Fenton in Coleman and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1990.
Loretta worked at Holiday Hill Nursing Home from 1974-1990 as an assistant administrator. She then went to work at Coleman Healthcare Center and retired from there. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Coleman.
Survivors include her son, Shawn Frank Fenton of Coleman; a sister, Joyce Keller of Tyler; four grandchildren, Mila Brewster of Abilene, Callan Waddle of Lubbock, Harley Frank Fenton of Coleman and Laromy Fenton of Clyde; four great-grandchildren, Cheydon Brewster, Jaython, Hayden and Damion Fenton.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Judy Marla Fenton and Ginger Ann Waddle; two sisters, Mildred Hunter and Nita Armstrong; one brother, L. W. Keeney and a close cousin, Willie Laird.
